Learning Outcomes:
- Definition of Trafficking with particular reference to trafficking of children - will include external trafficking (children trafficked into UK from abroad) and internal trafficking (children trafficked within UK borders).
- Types of Exploitation
- Modern Slavery Act 2015 –overview of key elements to safeguard children
- National Referral Mechanism (NRM) –what is it, your statutory duty and how to complete it
- Case example for practical NRM exercise –delegate’s complete NRM form based on case example to give opportunity to put into practice the guidance given.
Who is this course for?
It’s aimed at Child Workforce –particularly social workers (including those who work in MASH/ initial assessment team, with unaccompanied children from abroad, LAC) –but wider also.
