Target Group (Staff Levels):

Staff whose organisation is represented on the Dudley Safeguarding Adults Board (SAB) or in a Multi-agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team.

The target audience is staff levels 2-3 (in accordance with the Dudley Safeguarding Adults Board) Safeguarding Strategy 2018-19.

 

Aim:

To understand the difference between stalking and harassment, the impact of these crimes on victims and the people around them, how to recognize and respond effectively to risk and how to refer to local and national specialist support services.

 

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the definitions of stalking and harassment
  • Understand the law around stalking and harassment
  • Knowledge of the behavior (s) that constitute stalking
  • Understand stalking in the context of domestic abuse and coercive control
  • Knowledge of specialist stalking risk assessments and how to use them
  • Ability to respond to stalking related risk
  • Knowledge of how to safely support someone experiencing stalking and/or harassment
  • Knowledge and increased ability to use local specialist support services
