Who is this course for?

This training session is aimed at people who are in contact with parents and carers who may have issues involving problematic drug and alcohol use.  It is also aimed at people who work with children whose parents or carers may have problems with drugs and alcohol.

The training will look at addiction and the type of drugs people can misuse. It will cover the behaviours, treatments and support networks available in Dudley.

Learning Outcomes:

  • To explore issues and the impact of problematic drug use by parents on their children.
  • To learn about assessment of parental drug use and thresholds of concern.
  • To understand how integrated working can help parents/carers who use drugs and alcohol.
  • To learn about the effects of drug and alcohol use during pregnancy.
  • To learn about the signs and symptoms of substance misuse.

This course is delivered in partnership with Change, Grow, Live

This is a level 2 course.
