Detail:

This training programme will look at providing an overview of doorstep crime, scams and other fraud linking in to preventing safeguarding financial abuse.  

The training will be a guide to identify third party financial abuse, cons and scams which target those who may be especially vulnerable. This course is suitable for anyone who supports adults (with care and support needs) who live in their own home

Aim:

To empower participants to protect those at risk by providing an overview of doorstep crime, scams and other fraud

Learning Outcomes:

  • To gain a better understanding of doorstep crime, scams and other frauds
  • To be able to recognise warning signs that a person is a victim or potential victim of financial abuse
  • To consider measures which can be taken to minimise the risk of people becoming the victim of this type of crime
  • To be clear about roles and responsibilities when responding to concerns that someone is the victim of this type of crime
