DSPP Annual Conference 2023 - Trauma Informed Practice

The Dudley Safeguarding People Partnership is holding our annual conference where we will be covering the theme of Trauma Informed Practice.  This theme has been chosen as it has been highlighted in a number of our Children's and Adults Case Reviews.

We will have a number of guest speakers relating to the theme along with opportunities to reflect on Dudley Case Reviews and share ideas on how Dudley can better be a Trauma Informed Safeguarding Partnership:

• Zoe Lodrick - Neurobiology of Trauma, and the consequential potential impact for those working with individuals who have experienced trauma

Zoe is a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and an experienced Trainer and Consultant.  She has over 22 years experience of providing psychotherapy to women and men who have experienced rape, sexual assault and/or childhood sexual abuse; and providing training and consultation to professionals who work with victims/survivors of sexualised traumas (whether therapeutically or within the criminal justice system).

• Kayley Hyman - Approaches to Trauma Informed Practice with People who Hoard

Kayley is the founder of Holistic Hoarding, which she set up whilst completing a MSc in mental health and realised how little service provision was available to people with hoarding behaviours.  She is an associate trainer for the Chartered Institute of Housing and Clouds End CIC and is on the board of trustees for the Cardiff and Vale Action for Mental Health service

• West Midlands Violence Reduction Partnership – Think Family - Trauma Informed Practice

The Violence Reduction Partnership aims to reduce violent crime across the West Midlands region. It benefits from the expertise of partners in public health, criminal justice, sports, education, and policing in order to take on a collaborative approach towards reducing violence.
